-played melody at piano and harmonized 'with chords I felt fit best'

-used prior knowledge to reduce options for overall key of piece

-listened to piece to confirm correct answer

-used prior knowledge to correlate one part of analysis with another

 

student 2:

-used knowledge of chord construction to ID chords one by one (small details but not big picture)

-reported the big picture steps, but not how she got her answers

 

student 3:

-tried to listen but couldn't find a recording
