Building KU's Teaching and Learning Community

Call for Applications for Use of Active Learning Classrooms

The university Learning Spaces Committee is piloting a new approach to help staff and administrators match instructors with appropriate classrooms and to make the best use of a limited number of active learning classrooms. Those interested in trying an active learning room in the fall should fill out the accompanying web form, providing information about their class and how they will integrate the active spaces into their teaching.

Priority will be given to instructors who have adopted evidence-based pedagogies and have clear plans for using the space effectively. The Leaning Spaces Committee will use this rubric to make decisions about the rooms. The pilot is open to instructors in all disciplines.

Applications are due Monday, Feb. 11. Instructors will be notified about room assignments by March 4.

Rooms likely to be available are:

1146 ISB (180 capacity)

1160 ISB (72 capacity)

164 Ritchie (162 capacity)

203 JRP (32 capacity)

You can view the rooms on the university's classroom technologies page.
